Religious belief

In response to religious belief, 18.7% of those who completed the question declared that they were religious and belonged to a church or religious society. The answer with no religious belief accounted for more than two-thirds (68.3%) of the responses. The question on religious belief was voluntary, with 30.1% of persons leaving it blank, compared to 44.7% in the 2011 Census.

The highest proportion of believers belonging to a church or religious society (of those who answered the question) was 38.6% in the Zlínský region, while in the other Moravian regions and Vysočina this proportion was above average. In all regions, believers who stated a church or religious society most often reported belonging to the Roman Catholic Church. The option with no religious belief accounted for the highest proportion of responses in the Ústecký (84.2%) and Liberecký region (80.6%).
