Employment

The most represented major group of occupation among employed with the identified occupation was Professionals with a share of 21.0%, followed by Technicians and associate professionals with a share of 18.2%. Service and sales workers (14.4%), Plant and machine operators, and assemblers (13.7%) and Craft and related trades workers (12.9%) were similarly represented. No other major group of occupation exceeded one tenth of the proportion of employed persons with an identified occupation.

Of employed with known data on the major group of occupation, Professionals accounted for the highest share in the Capital City of Prague (34.8%) and the lowest in the Karlovarský Region (14.3%). The share of Technicians and associate professionals ranged between 15.4% in the Karlovarský Region and 20.7% in the Capital City of Prague. In addition to a significantly higher share of Professionals, the Capital City of Prague differed from other regions by having the lowest share of Plant and machine operators, and assemblers (4.9%) and the lowest share of Craft and related trades workers (6.2%). On the other hand, the highest share of Plant and machine operators, and assemblers was in Ústecký Region (17.6%) and Craft and related trades workers in Vysočina and Zlínský Regions (16.6% and 16.6% respectively). The share of Service and sales workers was between 12.9% in the Capital City of Prague and 18.7% in Karlovarský Region.
