Product name: Classifications and Nomenclatures
Annotation: A statistical classification is a hierarchically arranged breakdown of specific economic, social or demographic phenomena or processes. A classification breakdown follows phenomena and processes from the more general ones to the more detailed. In classifications, phenomena and processes are arranged and broken down usually by division and subdivision, group and subgroup, class and subclass; a higher level in the structure is broken down to more detailed lower levels and there is a hierarchical logical arrangement of superordination and subordination of individual levels of the classification. All statistical classifications in force are binding both for authorities performing the State Statistical Service and for reporting units, which provide data for statistical surveys carried out by the State Statistical Service. A statistical nomenclature is an ascending or a descending order of numerical characters, alphabetic characters or their combinations. These characters are assigned to a certain verbal description of phenomena or processes with a basic common feature. In most cases, there is usually no relation of superordination or subordination among individual items of a nomenclature. A nomenclature is an arranged list of codes and meanings assigned to them. Nomenclatures are part of a statistical information system. Nomenclatures are kept up to date.
