The Czech Statistical Office Issues the Calendar of News Releases for 2017

The Czech Statistical Office already determined the schedule for the publishing of News Releases in the next year. The new list of News Releases and the calendar thereof are being issued just today. You can find them on the Office website at www.czso.cz.
The Calendar of News Releases contains in total 21 items, which shall be published on 155 various dates. The first New Release with data for 2017 shall be published on 24 January 2017, the last one then on 4 April 2018.
The list already does not include the Average Prices Survey of Selected Products - Fuels and Oil Products (weekly) and the Average Prices Survey of Selected Products - Food and Beverages (monthly). These outcomes were not compliant in their form and contents with the current News Release definition. They were enlisted among the News Releases in the past for some technology reasons. “What, however, holds is that the Czech Statistical Office will publish these pieces of information in a standard and duly way on the same dates yet in the form of time series. It will be much beneficial to users,“ said Petra Kuncová, Director of the Information Services Department of the Czech Statistical Office.
The new Calendar of News Releases is published at the end of September every year. The announced publishing dates of News Realises give, inter alia, guarantee of the equal access of all users to statistical data, explains Iva Ritschelová, President of the Czech Statistical Office: “Because everybody a year in advance knows, when the Office will publish which data, there may not be any surmise, no matter how small, that certain news could be published purposely, for instance, in relation to political events or following to any other type of events.”
| The News Release is a type of the Czech Statistical Office product, which is published as a bilingual document both in Czech and English on a predetermined day always at 9:00 AM on the website at www.czso.cz in accordance with the New Release Catalogue and the Product Catalogue. The News Releases bring regularly brief news on the current development in economy and/or demography. They deal with inflation, GDP, average wages, employment and unemployment, economic results in industry and construction, or with harvest estimates. |
