Call for Papers


We invite you to propose Papers, Posters and/or Presentations for the conference, which could focus on modelling, the data required, spatial analysis and visualisation or the spatial data infrastructure required to bring it all together in cyberspace.

Topics for the EFGS 2012 Prague Conference:

1. Introduction:
Keynotes to define the challenge

An effort to focus on the modelling with statistics on three scales: National, EU and Global.

2. Topic A:
A Producers Forum

A Session or sessions on problems and experiences related to the production and harmonisation of Geostatistics from a National, EU and a Global perspective.

  • Producers Session(s): The National perspective
    The Geographical dimension of the 2010 Round of Population and Housing Censuses from national perspectives.
  • Producers Session: The EU perspective
    The Geographical dimension (both grid and blobs) of the 2010 Round of Population and Housing Censuses from an integrated EU perspective.
  • Producers Session: The Global perspective
    A session on problems related to a bottom-up approach to the production of a global system of grid statistics.
3. Topic B:
A Users Forum

A Session or sessions on problems and experiences related to the use of Geostatistics from a National, EU and a Global perspective.

  • Case Studies: The National perspective
  • Case Studies: The EU perspective
  • Case Studies: The Global perspective.
4. Conclusion:
The formulation and acceptance of a “Prague Declaration” for response

A concluding session on modelling; bringing all results and recommendations together in a common statement for the development of an overriding project for the EFGS.
