Reception on the occasion of the International Conference Statistics: Investment in the Future 2 in Prague

For social evening please dress smart/casual.

The conference participants, including accompanying persons who have registered and paid the fee (EUR 30) are warmly invited. The invitation card (the entrance ticket to the Evening) will be distributed upon the registration at the Congress Centre of CNB.
The card will include an orientation plan.
The Academic Club will be accessible for guests from 19:30, the Evening starts at 20:00.


Tours
Special tours have been arranged exclusively for the participants and accompanying persons at the conference Statistics: Investment in the Future 2.

A minimum number of participants is 10. Conference Secretariat reserves the right to cancel the tour for which a minimum number of participants have not registered. In this case another tour will be offered or a refund will be paid after the Conference.

Booking in advance is recommended, on-site availability cannot be guaranteed.

Prague Gardens Tour 9:00 – 13:00


Guided Tour through Prague - Prague Venice - 45 minutes

The Organising committee has prepared this guided tour to welcome participants of the Conference and their accompanying persons in Prague, the heart of the Czech Republic.
The tour can offer a beautiful view on architectonic dominants of Prague city by sightseeing cruise on the Vltava River. For this occasion there will be ready in the wharf JUDITA (address: Křížovnické náměstí, Prague 1 - Old Town, map) two boats with refreshments and guide service for participants of the Conference Statistics 2009. Those participants, who registered for a trip, will receive the departure information via e-mail. Registration has already been completed.

This tour offers a general impression of the "Golden City" by walk and visiting several important sites.
It starts at Prague Castle and continues to the Lesser Town, Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square where you can see the Old Town Hall and its 15th century astronomical clock, as well as the Church of Our Lady of Tyn and the romantic Walk of the Kings. Enjoy this tour while listening to ancient legends and tales and observing and feeling the pulse of a modern central-European metropolis.

Prague Gardens Tour - 4 hrs

This tour offers the opportunity to explore Prague’s gardens. It begins at Prague Castle, which was founded in the 9th century and has, since 1918, been the seat of the president of the Czech Republic. Situated on the southern slope of the Prague Castle compound is a unique complex of Italian-type terraced gardens that rank among the largest fully preserved, recently restored public gardens of its kind. Covering an area of 7,711 square meters, this complex called the Ledebour Gardens is comprised of five successive, interconnecting gardens. Owing to their beauty, size and diversity, the gardens beneath Prague Castle are an exceptional Prague location, ideal for pleasant walks. The tour will continue to the Lesser Town Square with the dominating St Nicholas Church. The Vrtbovska garden is situated on the slope of the Petrin hill and is considered to be the most beautiful garden in Europe north of the Alps is, in itself, a small museum of Baroque sculpture. A beautiful view overlooking Prague awaits you.

Cancellations, changes and refunds

Please inform the Conference Secretariat of any amendments or cancellations in writing by fax (+420 284 001 448) or e-mail. Telephone amendments will not be accepted. The appropriate refunds will be made after the Conference.

The following cancellation conditions apply to the cancellation of social events & tours:

Cancellation before & on August 15, 2009: full refund less a handling fee of 15 EUR
Cancellation from August 16, 2009: no refund
