Instructions to Authors


Abstracts and Papers will be published in the electronic Book of Papers, therefore we have prepared general guidelines and instructions for their elaboration:
  • Abstracts should not exceed the length of 500 words, for papers 15 pages are maximum.
  • The official language of the conference is English, therefore papers should be written in English.
  • Papers must be submitted in the DOC format (using Microsoft Word you can take advantage of the prepared template) respecting the guidelines below.
  • The deadline for submitting the abstract is May 31, 2009, submission should be done via e-mail conference2009@czso.cz.
  • Full papers submission deadline is August 20, 2009.
  • Power Point presentation please submit until September 9, 2009, please use WinZip to compress the file, fulltext format: DOC (Word 95/97/2000) and presentation format: PPT(Power Point 97/2000).

Paper abstracts will be evaluated by Executive Person responsible for respective topic. All participants will be informed whether their abstract are accepted or rejected. Executive Persons and Organizers reserve the right to reject any abstract.

All abstracts and presentations will be available at this website. Each participant will obtain a CD (with ISBN) containing all supplied abstracts and full text papers. Selected full papers will be published in the journals of Statistika and Prague economic Papers (issued by Prague University of Economics).

Guidelines for text document preparation (abstracts and papers)

  • A4 page format (210 mm x 297 mm)
  • Page margins: left, right, top, bottom: 2,5 cm
  • Font: Arial
    Title: 14 pt, bold, centered, space 12 pt above and below
    Name: 12 pt, bold, centered, space 12 pt above and below
    Text: 10 pt, double justified, single spaced
  • In case you have images (photos, screenshot of presentation e.g.) illustrating well the content, you can add it to submitted document as an JPG file. We reserve the privilege to decide about publishing those images in the Book of Papers.

We suggest using the prepared template Abstract_template.doc, the same template could be used for full text papers.

Information for presenters
  • Presentation time is limited to 15 - 20 minutes according to number of presentations in your session, restricting you to only the main points of your paper. It is absolutely essential that you finish your presentation within the given time limit. Conference participants are allowed to move between sessions and must be able to listen to presentations starting at the times given in the programme.
  • An overhead projector (transparency type only), Power Point equipment (including laptop and beamer), and screen will be standard in every meeting room. For those who use Power Point please bring a flash disk or CD-ROM of your presentation and also back-up regular overhead transparencies just in case.
