General Information


Conference Venue
The conference "Statistics - Investment in the future 2" will take place in Prague from 14 to 15 September 2009 at Congress Centre of the Czech National Bank, which is located in the city centre (close to metro stations Můstek on line A and B, Hlavní nádraží on line C, Náměstí republiky on line B) - Prague Map

Conference Language
The official conference language is English. Interpretation services will not be available.

Letters of Invitation
The Organising Committee of the Conference will be happy to send a personal invitation to any person upon request.

Participant Fee
If you register until June 30, 2009, as a participant you will pay € 190. After this date until July 31, 2009 the participant fee will be € 240.

Dress Code
For working sessions please dress smart/casual.

Name Badge
Participants and registered accompanying persons will receive a name badge at the reception in the Congress centre. Everyone is obliged to wear the badge during all Conference activities.

Passport and Visa Requirements
The Czech Republic entered the Schengen Zone in 2008. Visitors from the Schengen Zone will travel without pass control on the border or on the airport. The visitors from non-Schengen countries must possess a passport valid for at 3 months from the date of entry. For the EU and Swiss citizens, the national identity card should be enough, but we advise to have your passport anyway.
Participants requiring visa should apply for visa at the Embassy or at the Consular Offices in the Czech Republic. If you intend to visit another Shengen country, and the Czech Republic is your main destination, you should still apply at the Czech Embassy or consular offices. We recommend to apply for Tourist Visa.

Currency / Banking
Czech Crown is the official currency in the Czech Republic. Exchange of foreign currency is available at Prague International Airport and at most hotels, banks and exchange offices throughout the city.
International credit cards and debit cards are also accepted for payment in most hotels, restaurants and shops.

Insurance
The organisers do not take responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance and all delegates are strongly advised to have their own personal insurance before travelling to the conference. The organisers will not accept any liability for damages and/or losses of any kind, which may be incurred by conference participants or by any persons accompanying them, both during official activities and excursions.

Disclaimer
The clients participate in all tours and events at his/her own risk. Participants are advised to insure themselves against loss, accidents or damage that could be incurred during the Conference. Verbal agreements will not be binding unless they are confirmed in writing. Sole place of jurisdiction is Prague. Czech law is applicable.

Conference papers
All abstracts and presentations will be available at this website. Every participant will obtain a CD containing all supplied abstracts and full text papers. Selected full text papers will be published in the journals of Statistika and Prague economic Papers (issued by Prague University of Economics).
