Handover of the Presidency of the Council of the EU in statistics from the Czech Republic to Sweden (7 July 2009)

On 3 July 2009 the handover meeting between the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) and Statistics Sweden took place in Prague.

The Swedish delegation was led by the Acting Director General Mats Wadman and the CZSO delegation by its Vice-President Stanislav Drápal. The handover meeting was also attended by the representatives of French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) (as members of the current Trio Presidency) and by the European Commission/Eurostat. During the meeting the results of the Czech Presidency and the plans for the Swedish Presidency were presented. The Czech delegation also informed the Swedish colleagues about the progress achieved on the legislative dossiers that are handed over to the Swedish Presidency. The cooperation within the Trio Presidency and with all parties involved was highly appreciated by all participants.

The Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer participated in the working lunch.

The handover meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. The CZSO would like to thank all the participants of the handover meeting and wishes Sweden a successful EU Presidency.
