Statistical variables (indicators) of the CZSO
Data set description:
The data set contains codes, texts, and definitions of statistical variables (indicators) from the Statistical Metainformation System (a block called in Czech “SMS UKAZ”) of the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO).
Texts and definitions have been prepared in Czech and English. Although the English version of texts is not obligatory, it is available for most of the statistical variables.
A statistical variable (previously used term was “indicator”) defines a surveyed statistical phenomenon.
Statistical variables are used in all phases of statistical data processing and presentation. They are used in all statistical domains (social, demographic, economic and environmental statistics).
Codes of statistical variables (STAPRO) are part of most of data sets with statistical data.

Data structure:
The data set is a “CSV” file; individual items (making up columns) are delimited both from the right and from the left by a quotation mark (") character; individual items are separated by a comma.
Each statistical variable makes up one line of the file.
