High-level meeting of the Czech Presidency in Prague
On 26 and 27 September, the Czech Statistical Office will, in the context of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, host a high-level meeting for Directors-General / Presidents of national statistical institutes. The event, co-organised by Eurostat, will take place at the Congress Centre of the Czech National Bank in Prague.
The high-level meeting “Future Statistics: The New Era of Data Science in Official Statistics“ will provide an opportunity for a discussion and the sharing of experiences on data processing and machine learning and the role of data scientists in official statistics.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Venue
The high-level meeting will take place at the Congress Centre of the Czech National Bank in Prague. This Congress Centre is located right in the middle of the city in the former Commodity Exchange. It is known as “a pantheon of the world of finance” – its standard of comfort, craftsmanship and conservative luxury is the very embodiment of that world.

Social Programme
At the end of the first day’s meeting, you are invited to join a walking tour (about 2.5 km long) around the centre of Prague. The tour, which will be conducted by professional tour guides, should last around two hours. You will visit the main sights and attractions of Old Town of Prague and discover more about Czech history and culture.
Please bear in mind that many streets of Prague are laid in cobblestone. Though the streets have their own charm, wearing comfortable shoes is highly recommended.
The walking tour will be followed by dinner in Café & Restaurant Slavia (Restaurant Parnas) starting at 19:30 (map).
