Changes in national accounts data release

From September 2014, quarterly national accounts backward revisions policy will change. Quarterly national accounts will no longer be revised with a three-month delay after national accounts data release; on the contrary, the process will be accelerated and revised quarterly accounts will be published together with a new annual estimate.

On 1 October 2014 (Wednesday), the CZSO will release results of an occasional revision of national accounts in relation to a revision of the European System of Accounts (ESA 2010) methodology that has been planned in advance. In relation to that, quarterly estimates for the Q2 2014 and the time series since 1995 will be revised, too. Since it is necessary to keep consistency of published annual and quarterly data in the ESA 2010 methodology and Eurostat transmission programme, the date of publication of the News Release on Quarterly National Accounts will be shifted by a day from 30 September to 1 October 2014.

Users will thus receive revised time series of quarterly and annual accounts on the same date for the first time.

In relation to the transition to the ESA 2010, the CZSO will organize two thematic press conferences: on 16 September and 1 October 2014.
