The Review Process

Publication of original scientific and overview papers in the Statistika journal is preceded by an independent, double-blind peer review procedure (each article has at least two reviewers, the principle of independence and anonymity of authors and reviewers applies, reviewers are experts in the area of the particular paper).

Analyses, Discussion, Methodology and Consultation sections contain double-blind peer-reviewed scientific, overview or discussion papers.
Book Reviews are subject to an anonymous assessment by one reviewer.
Informative (descriptive) texts in the Information section are subject to an anonymous assessment by one reviewer. Other information in this section (publications, conferences, etc.) is not subject to a review process.

The review process takes into account such factors as relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability, and language quality (see the Review Form).
The possible results of the review process include acceptance, acceptance after revisions, or rejection of the paper.

  • If authors are encouraged to revise and resubmit the paper, no guarantee that the revised version will be accepted is given.
  • Rejected articles are not subject to re-review process.
  • If both reviews are positive, the article is recommended for publication.
  • If both reviews are negative, the article is rejected.
  • If at least one reviewer requires the article to be reworked and reassessed, the article must be reworked and then sent back for re-evaluation to the same reviewer.
  • In case that one review is positive and the other negative, the evaluation of a third reviewer is decisive.

The average length of the review process is two months. The author will be informed about the result of the review process by the Managing Editor.
Articles for the review process are accepted continuously and may contain (for the review process) tables and figures places directly in the text (but for final graphical typesetting shall be supplied separately and at the end of the paper as specified in the quide).
After a successful review process, articles are subject to proofreading (at the request of the author or on the recommendation of the reviewer), graphic preparation, and final author´s proof. Publication of articles have no financial benefits, authors publish their articles for free (no publication fees).
Before publication of all articles we sign licence agreement with every author.
