The CZSO extends the Online Census

28 March 2021

The Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) is extending the online phase of the Census. It will thus make it possible to get counted over the Internet up to 11 May.

“The extension of the Online Census responds to the temporary inaccessibility of the system during the first day. The aim is, besides other things, to spread the load on the application over a longer time period. Moreover, in the current epidemic situation, people will thus be able to get counted online in a contactless way throughout the entire period of the Census, i.e. also during the distribution of paper census forms (questionnaires) by census officers (census enumerators),” Marek Rojíček, President of the Czech Statistical Office, said.

It will be possible to get counted over the Internet from anywhere up to 11 May. If somebody cannot or doesn’t want to get counted online, he/she can fill in the paper census form (questionnaire) from 17 April to 11 May.

The law makes it possible to extend the period for the Online Census. The CZSO has recently started negotiations about extending of operation of all Census information systems and modification of information outputs.
