Forestry

In 2024, roundwood removals amounted to 17.8 million m3 (underbark); there was a year-on-year decrease by 0.7 million m3. The share of salvage felling was 45.0%; spruce was the main species harvested (68.5% of roundwood removals). Afforestation/reforestation (planting and sowing) was carried out on an area of 29 494 hectares, with conifers prevailing (55.3% of the area). Natural forest regeneration reached a record area of 12 447 ha.
