On Saturday and Sunday, signing in into the electronic census form (questionnaire) via NIA and data boxes of natural persons will be temporarily limited. Those are the ways of signing in that have only been used by 1.75% of users so far. The planned outage (shutdown) does not concern the most frequent way of signing in by means of identity papers at all.

On 10 April 2021 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the system of basic registers of public administration will undergo a temporary shutdown due to technical reasons. Therefore, in the aforementioned period of time, it will not be possible to use services of the electronic identification by means of the National Point for Identification and Authentication (NIA; Czech only) and to sign in (log in) into the electronic census form (questionnaire) via NIA.

The Information System of Data Boxes (ISDS; Czech only) will undergo planned shutdown on 10 and 11 April 2021. Therefore, in the aforementioned period of time, it will not be possible to sign in (log in) into the electronic census form (questionnaire) via a data box of a natural person.

“During the planned short-term interruption of operation of NIA and data boxes, the most frequently used option to sign in into the electronic census form remains functional. It is the way of signing in by means of a number of a valid identity paper issued by the Czech Republic, i.e. an ID, a passport, or documents issued to foreigners, and a date of birth. This option is currently used by 98% of users,” Jolana Voldánová, spokeswoman of the 2021 Census project, says. One can get counted online on the website www.scitani.cz or via the mobile application that you can find in Google Play and App Store under the name “Sčítání21” (“Census21”).  

From the beginning of the Census, i.e. since 27 March 2021, until midnight of 4 April 2021, over 31 thousand persons used the option to get counted by means of NIA; that represents 1.75% of all those who signed in. (Of that number, 22 thousand got counted via their banking identity, which is 1.24% of all of those who have already got enumerated.)
