Industrial production: +1.7%, y-o-y

In October 2011, industrial production increased at constant prices by 1.7%, year-on-year. Compared to the previous month seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.1%. The value of new orders increased by 2.1%, y-o-y.

In October 2011, industrial production increased at constant prices by 1.7%, y-o-y. Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.1%, month-on-month. The following contributed the most to the y-o-y growth of industrial production: manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution +3.0 percentage point, growth by 16.6%), manufacture of fabricated metal products (contribution +0.3 p.p., growth by 3.0%), and manufacture of electrical equipment (contribution +0.2 p.p., growth by 3.4%). The deepest decline of industrial production was recorded in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (contribution -0.7 p.p., drop by 17.2%), manufacture of food products (contribution -0.3 p.p., drop by 6.7%), and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (contribution -0.3 p.p., drop by 9.0%).

Revenues from industrial activity at current prices increased by 2.6%, y-o-y. Direct export revenues of industrial enterprises increased at current prices by 13.1%. Domestic revenues, which include also indirect export via non-industrial enterprises decreased at current prices by 6.4%.

The value of new orders in selected industrial CZ-NACE activities increased by 2.1%, y-o-y. Non-domestic new orders grew by 8.4%, while domestic new orders decreased by 7.8%. The y-o-y growth of new orders in total was the most contributed to by the following CZ-NACE divisions: manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (contribution +0.8 p.p., growth by 13.2%), manufacture of basic metals (contribution +0.6 p.p., growth by 7.7%), manufacture of electrical equipment (contribution +0.5 p.p., increase by 5.9%). The value of new orders decreased in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (contribution -0.7 p.p., drop by 5.7%), manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (contribution -0.3 p.p., drop by 16.4%), and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution -0.05 p.p., drop by 0.1%).

The average registered number of employees * ) in industrial enterprises with 50+ employees increased in October 2011 by 1.9%, y-o-y. Their average monthly nominal wage increased in October 2011 by 3.1%, y-o-y, and reached CZK 25 561.

According to the Eurostat news release published in September 2011, working day adjusted industrial production in the EU27 increased by 2.2%, y-o-y. Data for October 2011 will be released by Eurostat on 14 December 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
