Please, pay attention to the fact that the News Release on Wages in Q1 2012 will be affected by the administrative move of units in between the non-business sphere and the business one. These spheres are defined by the methodology of national accounts. Eurostat required the classification of certain organisations would be made more precise according to so-called 50% criterion, in which the source of operating costs coverage is tested. This fact will be also reflected in the numbers of employees as well as in the level of wages, namely in the smaller non-business sphere this administrative act may cause the level of the average wage could be changed.
The average gross monthly wage is the share of wages and salaries (including premiums for overtime, direct remunerations and bonuses, refunds of wages, etc.) per employee per month. Therefore it does not indicate the amount of wage each concrete employee receives. Results of structural statistics, providing data on earnings of respective employees, show that approximately two thirds of employees have a wage lower than the national average.

It is necessary to keep in mind that an employee receives a net wage or salary, while the gross wage is such amount, from which the employer pays appropriate amounts on health and social security insurance, employment policy, and advance income tax.
