Today, Eurostat is to publish the monthly unemployment rate, consistent in terms of methodology applied, within its news release, yet for the age group 15 – 74 years. Because the age group 65 – 74 years is characterized by a low number of unemployed persons, after the rounding there was the same general unemployment rate value reached also in the group 15-74 years of age. Data for the Czech Republic are based on monthly data from the Labour Force Sample Survey (LFSS).

The News Release includes consistent time series of basic indicators of the labour market back to 1993. Tables in annex contain seasonally adjusted absolute numbers of the employed and unemployed persons, respectively, yet the transition to a new system of weights may affect continuity from December to January.
