1869The first Population Census on the territory of Bohemia and Moravia was carried out
1870Municipal Commission for Statistics of the Royal City of Prague was established
1897Land Statistical Office of Czech Lands established
1909The first "Statistical Handbook of Czech Lands" was issued
1919Act on organization of statistical service adopted, State Office for Statistics founded
1920The first "Statistical Handbook of Czechoslovak Republic" was issued, "Czechoslovak Statistical Bulletin" started to be issued
1921The first Population and Housing Census carried out in the Czechoslovak Republic
1946Offices of state statistical service were founded in districts
1949In relation to establishing of regions, the structure of regional statistical services was established
1951Regional and district administrations of the State Office for Statistics were established
1961Statistics and state control merged, in 1967 statistics separated again (State Statistical Office)
1969Federal Statistical Office, Czech Statistical Office, and Slovak Statistical Office founded
1972CZSO Regional Administrations and district departments were founded
1993Federal Statistical Office ceased to exist, its functions and activities were taken over by the CZSO
1998Transformation of the state statistical service
2000The CZSO Regional Offices founded in 14 regions
2001Regional Statistical Yearbooks issued in a unified system
2004The CZSO included in European Statistical System
