§ 22


§ 22
 
(1) Identification Numbers are assigned to

a) legal persons incorporated in the Company Register, foreign persons and organisational parts of foreign persons, foundations and endowment funds and generally beneficial societies by the Court of Registration10,

b) natural persons carrying on trade by the Trade Licence Office11,

c) associations11a and political parties and political movements11b by the Ministry of the Interior,

d)  legal persons registered under a special legal regulation11c by the Ministry of Culture,

e) school establishments that are legal persons under a special legal regulation12a and public research institutions12b by the Ministry of Education, Youth and PT,

f)  public non-profit in-patient health care establishments founded under a special legal regulation12c by the Ministry of Health,

g) all other businesses by the Czech Statistical Of­fice12.
 
(2) The Courts of Registration and government institutions authorised to assign Identification Numbers under paragraph 1 shall communicate to the Czech Statistical Office all facts relating to the assignment and termination of validity of Identification Numbers and to changes of registered data under this Act.
 
(3) If an erroneous Identification Number is assigned, rectification shall be made by the institution that assigned this erroneous Number. An erroneous Identification Number is an Identification Number which has already been assigned to another business or an Identification Number with an inconvenient error control character.
 
(4) Identification Numbers for the needs of the Courts of Registration and government institutions mentioned in paragraph 1 are generated by the Czech Statistical Office.
 
(5) A legal person that is not assigned an Identification Number in compliance with paragraph 1(a), (c) and (d) or a government department have the duty to report their foundation as well as other data necessary for assigning the Identification Number and incorporating into the Register to the Czech Statistical Office within 10 days of their foundation. They also have the duty to report any changes or termination of the stated facts.
 
(6) Instead of a legal person or government department, the duty mentioned in paragraph 5 may be complied with by its founder.
 
(7) Natural persons carrying out an entrepreneurial activity not classified as trade are assigned an Identifi­cation Number by the Czech Statistical Office on the basis of data acquired from legal persons or administrative authorities which, under special legal regulations, issue documents authorising to this activity; these businesses have the duty to provide the required data to the Czech Statistical Office.
 
(8) The appropriate Identification Number shall be communi­cated to the legal person, to the government department (paragraph 5) or to the natural person (paragraph 7) by the Czech Statistical Office within 10 days of the receipt of data mentioned in paragraphs 5 and 7.
