§ 21 Identification Number of a Business


§ 21

Identification Number of a Business
 
(1)  An Identification Number is used for unambiguous identification of a business and is only of recording importance*. The manner of its assignment is stipulated by the Czech Statistical Office.
 
(2) An Identification Number is assigned to each business. The Identification Number once assigned to a particular business shall not be assigned to any other business, not even if the business to which it had been assigned no longer exists; this does not apply to instances of conversion of a business by law or change of legal form of a company9k or co-operative9k.

(3) Each business is assigned only one Identifica­tion Number. A business assigned an Identifi­cation Number in connection with one entrepreneurial activity and planning to carry out another shall indicate its Identifi­cation Number in any official contact with the body authorised to issue the license for carrying out this other activity.
 
(4) Unambiguous identification of a detached establishment or other organisational part with a similar status9g is made by the Identification Number of the business whose part it is, to which a digit in brackets is attached indicating the sequence number of this establishment in the Company Register.
